What is the Apolline Fest?

The Apolline Fest is a convivial occasion for parents and students to discover the artistic creations of the school's young artists. Students will be encouraged to participate in the event by presenting the results of their year's work. This visual, theatrical and musical event will be rich in color and offer a unique opportunity to discover the talents of our young artists. The school's music teachers, Apolline, Sandrina, Arnaud, Nicolas, Cédric and Piergiorgio, will have the pleasure of accompanying their students in their artistic performances. Arnaud will also have the opportunity to play bass with two groups of students for two concerts that promise to be memorable. These musical moments are not formal auditions, but an opportunity to discover the talents of Apolline's young artists in a friendly, festive atmosphere. Next come the theatrical performances.

The Steinway hall will be emptied of its instruments to make way for the sets. The Apolline Fest will be the stage for exceptional artistic performances orchestrated by the school's teachers. Mirko will present the fruits of his students' labors in two short plays. Then, Mélie, musical comedy teacher, will present an ambitious one-hour play featuring her students singing, dancing and acting.

Throughout the Apolline Fest, a visual arts exhibition will be on display in the hall to showcase our students' achievements. This event will be an opportunity to discover the diversity of drawings and paintings created by our students, reflecting their progress throughout the year.

What's new in detail

This year's Apolline Fest will feature an exceptional new feature: our favorite mangaka Yami Shin will host a masterclass in the Apolline classroom. Yami Shin is an internationally renowned manga artist. She is known for her captivating works and unique style, inspired by traditional Japanese art. It's a real honor to have her as a teacher at Apolline, where she teaches students the art of manga drawing. During the masterclass, she will share her experience of living and working as a mangaka and answer any questions you may have, then lead an introductory drawing workshop for the children in attendance. This will be a unique opportunity for budding young artists to discover Yami Shin's drawing techniques and learn from her vast experience in the manga industry. Discover her now:

Like last year, Apolline Fest will take place at the Atelier de la Côte, home to a number of artists and craftspeople. This new feature will enable visitors to discover not only the work of our students, but also that of the artists and craftspeople on site. Among the workshops available will be the Atelier dessin de mode et création, offering original creations and one-off pieces, and the Atelier piano musique et parfum, offering a unique sensory experience combining music and fragrance. Visitors can also discover Japanese "suminagashi" marbled paper, a traditional technique for creating unique patterns on paper.

Perhaps you'd like to learn how to draw your favorite manga characters? If so, there's nothing better than taking a comic/manga drawing course to learn how to draw them and share your interests. Apolline offers courses in Lausanne, Morges, Montreux, Bienne and Delémont. And to deepen your knowledge even further, you can take part in the comic/manga drawing vacation camps held throughout French-speaking Switzerland during the school vacations!
