When Nina’s Voice Rises: An Inspiring Journey with Apolline
At just 14 years old, Nina is about to take an important step in her musical journey: the semi-finals of the Swiss Voice Tour, which will take place on September 27 in Biel. A vocal student at Apolline, she is guided by her teacher Sandrina, with whom she prepares every detail to shine on stage.
The Birth of a Passion
It all began when Nina was 8 years old. Inspired by her father, an amateur guitarist and music enthusiast, she quickly discovered the joy of singing. At home, she would sing constantly and was also drawn to musical theater, another passion that fuels her artistic world. “Singing makes me happy,” she says simply.
Discovering Apolline
Nina first stepped into a structured learning environment during a summer workshop at Apolline. It was love at first sight. She went on to take regular lessons for two years before returning now, motivated by the Swiss Voice Tour. This back-and-forth reflects the flexible artistic path that Apolline offers: each student progresses at their own pace, according to their projects and passions.
The Power of Personalized Guidance
Today, Nina works closely with Sandrina, who helps her choose the right songs, explore new styles, and develop her voice. For Nina, this support is invaluable: “She helps me so much to improve my voice and to find the songs that really fit me.” This special bond between student and teacher perfectly reflects Apolline’s philosophy: encouraging every young artist to grow with kindness.
The Swiss Voice Tour Experience
The Swiss Voice Tour is one of the biggest singing competitions for young talents in Switzerland. The journey unfolds in several stages:
-
a regional casting, where each participant performs a first song;
-
a regional final, in front of both jury and audience;
-
the selection of a single winner per region, who qualifies for the semi-finals.
This is far from Nina’s first attempt: since the age of 10, she has taken part in several editions and reached the regional finals four times. This year, however, she went one step further by winning the final in Morges, which earned her a place in the semi-finals. A milestone that reflects both her perseverance and her passion for music.
Joy, Nerves, and Pushing Beyond Limits
Like many performers, Nina admits she gets stage fright before stepping into the spotlight. But as soon as she starts singing, the fear fades away: “As soon as I begin, the nerves disappear. Then it’s mostly the joy that takes over.” Singing becomes a space of freedom where she can truly be herself.
Her musical inspirations range from Taylor Swift to Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter. For the semi-finals, however, she has chosen—together with her teacher—a song that’s “a little older,” one that perfectly fits her voice and challenges her to grow. She’s keeping it a secret until September 27, making the anticipation all the greater.
A Message to Other Young Singers
To those who dream of joining such competitions, Nina shares a hopeful piece of advice: “Don’t give up. If you’re not selected, it’s okay. Just keep working, and one day you’ll make it.” A lesson in perseverance that goes far beyond the stage.
A Journey that Inspires
While waiting for the semi-finals, Nina continues rehearsing with passion and determination. Her story embodies the very essence of Apolline: a place where children and teens not only receive quality artistic training but also a safe space to grow, gain confidence, and fully express their creativity.
On September 27 in Biel, it won’t just be Nina’s voice echoing—it will be the reflection of a journey where joy, guidance, and self-growth come to life through music.
