Swiss Voice Tour 2022

A look back at the journey of our student Emma

Last week, Emma participated in the "Swiss Voice Tour" contest at the Leman Centre in Crissier. Here is a look back at her incredible journey which ended in a misunderstanding.

The Swiss Voice Tour in two words

This entirely Swiss contest takes place during one week in several shopping centers of the country. Participation is open and no registration is required for the qualification phase; the performances follow one another without respite for 4-5 days under the watchful eye of a professional jury. It's hard to get out of the game! In case of selection, the singers are invited to the semi-final of the center where they performed in order to hope to get a ticket for the grand final which will take place on October 29, 2022 at the prestigious Stravinsky in Montreux. Please note that each Swiss center can only nominate one finalist per category: children and adults. Places are limited!

Sandrina, her singing teacher at the Apolline School of Arts, follows her in her preparatory work. First, she submits a list of songs to Emma, unknown to her. Each song has technical subtleties that will help her progress. For the qualification phase, Emma chooses "My Mind" by Yebba, a pure piece composed of guitar and voice, in which she combines dynamics, sensitivity and technique to perfection (video at the top of the article).

Premature end of the adventure

After her performance dazzled the jury, Emma went home confident. The jurors had to call the candidates selected for the semi-final until Saturday morning, the last deadline. To her surprise, Emma did not hear her phone ring. Somewhat disappointed, she decided to go to Crissier to attend the semi-final as a spectator. A production manager approached her and asked her where she was and that she had been selected. To her amazement, Emma asked if she could still sing. Unfortunately, due to a tight schedule, the production refused.
