Introduction
Open to children aged 8 to 14, our musical comedy workshops are back this summer! From 9am to 4pm (and until 6pm on Fridays). These classes offer students the opportunity to learn about the multiple domains of singing, acting and dance, through a performance staged during the week.
Our experienced teachers take care of the lunch break, which each student is invited to bring. We ensure a quality atmosphere and group cohesion, with the emphasis on improvisation and performance.
The highlight of this enriching week will be a show on Friday 5.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m., open to families, parents and all those who wish to discover the prowess that a group of young people can accomplish in the space of a short week.
What do students learn? The program
Skills Developed
This program is designed to provide an enriching experience for children and teenagers. Here are the specific skills students will develop in each area:
Singing: Students will learn essential vocal techniques for singing in musical theatre. This includes projection, breath control and emotional interpretation. Sandrina, our professional singer with a degree in pedagogy from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne, will guide students through these technical aspects, enabling them to appropriate their songs to the best of their ability.
Theater and Improvisation: Under the guidance of Mirko Rochat, a Swiss-Romande comedian, students will be introduced to the art of improvisation. They will learn to create spontaneous scenes, develop their stage presence and interact with their teammates in a confident, improvised way.
Dance: Musical theatre specialist Melie will teach the basics of dance. Students will learn movements and choreographies that will enrich their overall performance. She also organizes the staging and the pooling of different techniques and areas to arrive at a coherent finale.
Each skill is taught in the context of a performance staged during the week, enabling students to put into practice what they have learned. This vacation workshop format offers a unique opportunity for children and parents to discover the fascinating world of musical theatre.
